This wooden magnetic fishing game comes with with 2 working wind-up fishing rods and reels, 10 magnetic fish to catch, a colorful game spinner and a bag to hold them in. We love that this game can be played solo or with 2 players, and that it's great for developing hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, core strength, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Count the fish pieces.
- Identify colors and patterns on the fish.
- Line up the fish from biggest to smallest.
- Sort the fish into groups (even, odd, striped or spotted).
- Use a bowl or bucket to challenge the kids to catch the fish with the rod, then walk to the bowl/bucket to deposit them.
- Make a shallow "pool" by rolling down the storage bag, put the fish inside and try catching them.
- Set a timer or count to 20 while the little ones catch as many fish as possible.
- Challenge players to tap each fish's body with the "hook" without attaching to the fish's magnet.
- Make a "pond" play surface using construction paper with everything you'd need to go fishing (chairs, hats, buckets, etc.).
